Working with signs –with letters– can’t always be properly called typography, calligraphy or lettering. However, the works shown here have something to do with writing, despite many of them do not intend to be ‘legible’. They could be called works of ‘fantastic writing’ or ‘written illustrations’ and include emblems, logos, expressive calligraphy and other pieces done for personal exploration.
Trabajar con signos –con letras– no siempre puede llamarse propiamente tipografía, caligrafía o rotulación. Sin embargo, estos trabajos tienen como común denominador a la escritura, aunque muchos no intentan ser ‘legibles’. Podrían ser llamados obras de “escritura fantástica” o “ilustraciones escritas”, e incluyen emblemas, logos, caligrafía expresiva y otras piezas experimentales.
