I’ve been carriyng personal Sketchbooks for almost half a life now. They have been faithful companions in classes, work meetings and travels. Besides being just drawing notebooks, they are reports on projects, schedules, journals, telephone-books, personal typographical specimens and plain caotic divagations. Carbon, coffee, ink, wine and Maruchan-soup blots stain their pages. I show here a selection of my drawings, sketches and just plain hallucinations present in these books –more than twenty now– many of which are the origin of numerous personal and professional illustrations.
Desde hace media vida, llevo Libros de Bocetos que me acompañan en clases, juntas de trabajo y viajes. Además de ser cuadernos de dibujo, son minutas de reuniones, diarios de viaje, agendas de teléfonos, especímenes tipográficos personales y simples divagaciones caóticas. Sus páginas están salpicadas de café, vino y sopas Maruchan, manchas de tinta y borrones de grafito. Aquí muestro una selección de mis dibujos, bocetos y alucines que aparecen en estos libros –que ya suman más de veinte– donde muchas ilustraciones personales y profesionales vieron por primera vez la luz.
